Palawija Crop Yield Survey Subround (SR) 3 in Metro Municipality

On September 12, 2024, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Metro Municipality conducted the Palawija Crop Yield Survey Subround 3 at sample locations in Banjarsari and Karangrejo, North Metro District. This survey aims to collect data on palawija crop productivity and provide an accurate picture of agricultural conditions in the area.

The survey team, comprising trained field officers, conducted direct field observations, recording various parameters related to palawija crops. The yield survey method involves selecting specific areas representing agricultural locations. In this method, officers establish plots of a specific size to measure crop yield. Recorded data includes the number of plants, plant height, and harvest yield per unit area.

The yield survey showed significant variations, with the lowest yield recorded at 20.18 kg and the highest reaching 33.78 kg per plot. This data provides valuable insights for production analysis and the development of more targeted and effective agricultural policies.

This activity is part of BPS’s efforts to provide statistical information necessary to support decision-making in the agricultural sector.
