Per capita income is a key indicator representing the average income received by each resident in a region annually. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) uses this to assess the economic welfare of a community. The main purpose of this indicator is to gauge the population's ability to meet basic needs, such as food, clothing, and housing, while also measuring purchasing power and overall quality of life.
In 2023, Kota Metro’s per capita income reached Rp 13.9 million per year, meaning each individual in the city, on average, earned about Rp 1.16 million per month. This figure reflects the income available to residents for daily necessities. This data serves as a foundation for the government to develop targeted policies to strengthen the local economy, improve living standards, and reduce inequality across community groups.
