In order to monitor the prices and availability of essential goods ahead of the National Religious Holidays (HKBN) of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025, the Metro Municipality Government, together with the Statistics of Metro Municipality (BPS Kota Metro), conducted direct inspections of several public markets and distributor warehouses in Metro Municipality. This inspection was carried out today, Friday, December 20, 2024, starting at 07:00 WIB until completion.
The
aim of this activity is to ensure price stability and the smooth distribution
of essential goods, such as rice, eggs, and other foodstuffs, which are crucial
ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations. The inspection began with
visits to several traditional markets in Metro Municipality, including
Margorejo Market, Metro Mega Mall Wet Market, Hamparan Agus Salim Market, and Terminal
City Wet Market. The team also visited several main distributor warehouses,
including CV. Bumi Jaya Sejati (rice distributor), CV. Lina Sumber Jaya (egg
distributor), and PT. Bawang Lanang Mandiri (basic goods distributor).
Through
this inspection, it is hoped that the Metro Municipality Government, together
with BPS, can continue to maintain the stability of prices and the supply of
essential goods so that the community can celebrate Christmas 2024 and New Year
2025 peacefully without worrying about shortages or uncontrolled price spikes.
