Head of BPS Kota Metro Attends UMM Podcast: Promoting Data Literacy Among the Youth

Metro, Lampung – The Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Kota Metro, Mrs. Arum Purbowati, was a guest speaker on the Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro podcast titled “Launching the Statistics Corner: Encouraging Data Literacy Among the Youth,” on Thursday (January 16, 2025). The event was hosted by Risma Nella Zannati, a student from Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro.

 

This podcast is an initiative to introduce the Statistics Corner program aimed at enhancing the understanding of the youth regarding the importance of statistical data. During the discussion, the Head of BPS explained the role of statistics in various aspects of life, particularly in supporting data-driven decision-making.

 

A variety of questions arose, ranging from how to utilize statistical data to the impact of data literacy on economic and social development in Kota Metro. The podcast concluded with hopes that the Statistics Corner program could serve as an inclusive and beneficial learning space for all, especially the younger generation. With the synergy between BPS and Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro, it is expected that data literacy in Kota Metro will continue to grow, supporting the creation of an informed and critical society regarding information.
