Meanwhile, the group spending curb inflation namely transportation, communication and financial services with a share of 0.0093 percent deflation. Index changes in all seven such spending causes inflation in Metro City by 0.13 percent.
Commodities that contributed high inflation during the month of March 2016 include the onion, garlic, catfish, red chillies, bottled water, a new brick, sand, tomatoes, cayenne pepper, and live chickens.
Based on the calculation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in March 2016, inflation Metro City due to increases in the index for processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco with an inflation of 0.40 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel which increased the index by 0.17 percent; clothing were up 0.15 percent; health groups with inflation of 0.13 percent; education, recreation and sports with inflation of 0.12 percent and foodstuffs with inflation of 0.03 percent. The highest deflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan 1.22 percent and the lowest deflation in Meulaboh 0.07 percent.
