❖ October 2017, CPI Combined Lampung Index rose from 131.19 in September 2017 to 131.35 in October 2017, thus inflation of 0.13 percent.
❖ Based on the October 2017 calendar point to point rate of 2.38 percent, and year on year inflation (yoy) in October 2017 is 3.47 percent.
❖ Of the seven expenditure groups, the four groups experienced inflation, ie the foodstuff category experienced inflation (up by 0.46 percent); housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.16 percent; education, recreation and sports group by 0.08 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group by 0.06 percent. In contrast, three expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely the processed food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group which experienced deflation of 0.12 percent; clothing by 0.01 percent; and the health group by 0.40 percent.
❖ From two monitoring cities in Lampung in October 2017, all experienced inflation. Bandar Lampung inflation was 0.11 percent, and Metro inflation was 0.23 percent.
❖ Bandar Lampung City Inflation is ranked 24th and Metro City ranks 13th out of 82 cities observed for price growth. Out of 82 cities, 44 CPI cities experienced inflation and 38 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 1.05 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Cilegon and Surakarta by 0.01 percent. Conversely, the highest deflation experienced by Palu by 1.31 percent, and the lowest occurred in Palopo by 0.01 percent.
❖ The foodstuff group contributed the highest inflation, which was 0.11 percent. The subgroup that became the highest inflation contributor in October 2017 was the subgroup of grains, tubers and yields of 0.19 percent.
