The labor force in February 2018 was 4,395.9 thousand people, up by 323.4 thousand people compared to August 2017 and up 124.7 thousand people compared to February 2017.
TPT February 2018 amounted to 4.33 percent, down by 0.10 points compared to TPT February 2017 (4.43 percent). In absolute terms the number of job seekers (open unemployment) increased by 1.4 thousand people or increased 0.73 percent over the past year.
The population working in February 2018 was 4,205,5 thousand people. The number increased by 309.2 thousand people from August 2017 and 123.3 thousand people compared to the situation a year ago.
The category of agriculture and mining still dominates the main employment field of the population which is about 48.08 percent of the total working population, followed by the large and retail trade categories; repair and maintenance of cars and motorcycles that amounted to 18.15 percent. In the third position is the category of processing industry that is equal to 7.27 percent.
Employment status of most of the working population in Lampung Province is laborers / employees / employees and tried to be assisted by temporary laborers, each of 1,002,5 thousand people and 904.6 thousand people. From this job status it is estimated that formal workers in Lampung are 26.88 percent while informal workers are 73.12 percent. The estimated proportion of informal workers in the previous year (conditions in February 2017) was 69.47 percent.
