In November 2019, Metro City experienced inflation of 0.36 percent due to an increase in the index from 142.50 in October 2019 to 143.01 in November 2019. Three expenditure groups contributed to the formation of inflation, namely the foodstuffs group of 0.3206 percent ; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.0366 percent and health by 0.0238 percent. In contrast, four expenditure groups contributed to the formation of deflation, namely the transportation, communication and financial services group by 0.0096 percent; clothing group by 0,0091 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0,0032 percent and education, recreation and sports group by several dominant commodities contributed to inflation including onions, vegetable tomatoes, catfish, oranges, kale, cooking oil, garlic, chicken eggs race, toothpaste and detergent powder / liquid soap.
Metro City Inflation was ranked 17th, out of 82 cities whose prices were observed, 57 CPI cities experienced inflation and 25 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Manado by 3.30 percent and the lowest inflation experienced by Malang by 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan by 1.06 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Batam and Denpasar by 0.01 percent.
Metro City, in November 2019 based on calculation of calendar year inflation (Point to Point) was 2.56 percent and year on year inflation (YoY) was 2.84 percent
