On Thursday (27/8) in the Village Sumbersari, District of South Metro, Metro City held harvest activities. This activity is led by the Military Commander (commander) 043 Garuda Hitam (Gatam), Col. Inf. Joko Putranto.
Attending the event Dandim 0411 Central Lampung (LT) Hari Darmica, Pj. Metro Mayor Ir. A. Chrisna Putra NR, MEP, Chief Superintendent Metro City Suresmiyati, Chairman of the Parliament of Metro Ana Morinda, Regional Secretary Metro Ishak and ranks SKPD and Danramil also the local police chief.
Acting Mayor of Metro, Chrisna Putra explained that in order to support the National Food Self-Sufficiency in particular to support the increase in rice production in the province of Lampung amounted to 1 million tonnes of paddy, the 2015 Metro City is targeted to reach a production of 22 629 tonnes of paddy rice. Target production is adapted to the vast potential of irrigated land technical and productive rainfed rice in Metro City which covers 2,960 hectares or 43.06 percent of the total area.
Chairman of the Parliament of Metro Anna Morinda assess the achievement of the harvest is a form of success of Metro City residents struggle to combat poverty. According to him, a similar success into the future will be able to re-materialize the military support given to farmers in Metro City.
