Group Exercise and Blood Donation Event for National Statistics Day Celebration

To celebrate National Statistics Day (HSN) 2024, Badan Pusat Statistik Kota Metro hosted a community exercise session and blood donation event. This gathering, attended by BPS employees, partners, and local residents, saw the presence of Kota Metro’s Mayor Wahdi, Deputy Mayor Qomaru Zaman, Chairperson of the Regional Legislative Council Ria Hartini, Head of BPS Arum Purbowati, Assistant II of the Regional Secretariat Yeri Ehwan, and Head of the Economic Division Yulia Chandrasari.

The Mayor of Kota Metro, Dr. Wahdi, warmly welcomed and appreciated BPS’s initiative, encouraging the community to support the city’s progress by ensuring accurate data reporting. “On behalf of the Government of Kota Metro, I am grateful for and supportive of BPS’s activities. May BPS continue to provide precise data toward One Data Indonesia,” he said.

Deputy Mayor Drs. Qomaru Zaman added that this was his first visit to the BPS Kota Metro office. He expressed hope that BPS would engage even more with the public and other government agencies, helping people understand the vital role of BPS. “I appreciate and support BPS’s efforts in providing accurate, reliable data,” he said.

Head of BPS Kota Metro, Arum Purbowati, thanked all OPD partners who took part in the event, especially for the community exercise and blood drive. She expressed her excitement at having both the Mayor and Deputy Mayor present, emphasizing that HSN activities aim to strengthen BPS’s relationship with the public.

The event also featured collaborations with various OPDs, such as the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil), which promoted and provided services to activate Digital Population Identification (IKD). PT Jasa Raharja offered free health checks, and BPS partners like Hotel Aidea, employees, and local residents came together to join in celebrating HSN.

National Statistics Day highlights the essential role statistics play in Indonesia’s development. The 2024 theme, “Quality Statistics for a Golden Indonesia,” underscores how critical accurate data is in reaching the vision for a Golden Indonesia by 2045. This celebration encourages everyone—from data providers to statisticians and users—to recognize the importance of statistics. September 26 was chosen for HSN as it marks the enactment of Law No. 7 of 1960, establishing BPS and the national statistics framework.
