The Head of BPS of Metro City Accompanied The 2024 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) Team

The Head of the Metro City Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Mrs. Arum Purbowati, SST, also directly accompanied the team in the implementation of the 2024 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) Data Collection. Her presence was not only to ensure the smoothness of the data collection process, but also to provide full support to field officers.

Susenas is a survey organized by BPS to collect information related to social, economic, and population conditions in a region. The data obtained from Susenas is the main reference in formulating more targeted development policies, because it includes important indicators such as poverty rate, gini ratio, and Human Development Index (HDI).

According to Ms. Arum, Susenas is a very important activity to obtain an accurate socio-economic picture of the community. “This data is very crucial to ensure that the development policies taken by the government are in accordance with the needs of the community. Therefore, the participation of all citizens is needed,” she said.

One of the biggest challenges in the field is dealing with respondents who are reluctant to provide data. Ms. Arum Purbowati did not hesitate to take a persuasive approach, explaining the importance of data in policies that favor the interests of the people, and how active community participation can contribute to future policy improvements.

“By providing correct and accurate data, the community directly contributes to regional and national development,” she added. This persuasive approach succeeded in increasing the number of respondents willing to participate, getting a positive response from the community.
