STATISTICAL REENGINEERING: TRANSFORMING DATA COLLECTION TO SUPPORT THE MEETING OF SDG INDICATORS

Metro, December 10, 2024 - The Metro City Statistics Agency (BPS) continues to innovate in its efforts to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of the important steps taken is through Statistic Reengineering activities, which aims to transform the traditional data collection system to be more efficient, integrated, and responsive to the needs of SDGs indicators.
Statistic Reengineering at BPS Metro City utilizes the Integrated Collection System (ICS), a system that integrates various data collection methods into one digital platform that is more effective and efficient. This approach aims to fulfill the needs of SDGs indicators that have not been comprehensively available.
Use of ICS and Integrated Agricultural Survey (SITASI)
One of the main examples of Statistical Reengineering implementation in Metro City is through the Integrated Agricultural Survey (SITASI). This survey adopts the latest technologies, such as Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) and Computer-Assisted Web Interviewing (CAWI), which replace traditional data collection methods in a faster, more accurate and affordable way. The use of CAPI and CAWI allows officers to collect data directly through mobile devices or web platforms, without having to rely on manual recording.
