Academic Community of Dharma Wacana University Supports the Kelurahan Cinta Statistik Program

Metro City, January 8, 2025 – The academic community of Dharma Wacana University in Metro held an audience with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Metro City today to discuss their involvement in supporting the Kelurahan Cinta Statistik program (Kelurahan Cantik). The event, which took place at the BPS Metro City office, was led by the Head of BPS Metro City, Mrs. Arum Purbowati.

 

The audience was attended by several academic representatives from Dharma Wacana University along with the Kelurahan Cantik Team from BPS Metro City. During this opportunity, Mrs. Arum Purbowati expressed her appreciation for the initiative of the students to actively participate in the Kelurahan Cantik program, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing statistical literacy at the village level.

 

The academic community of Dharma Wacana University also expressed their commitment to contribute to the Kelurahan Cantik activities through various approaches, such as socialization, community assistance, and simple statistical data processing. In this audience, they also presented a work plan that includes training in information technology-based data management and assistance in compiling village profile data.

 

Additionally, an interactive discussion between the academic community and BPS Metro City took place, discussing the best strategies to engage the village community in this program. Mrs. Arum Purbowati emphasized the importance of synergy between BPS, higher education institutions, and the community to ensure the program's success.

 

The event concluded with a cooperation agreement between BPS Metro City and Dharma Wacana University, where students will begin to directly participate in the Kelurahan Cantik program in the next implementation phase.

 

With this audience, it is hoped that the students of Dharma Wacana University can become agents of change that promote increased statistical literacy in the village community while supporting the achievement of data-driven development goals.
