Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro, First Statistics Corner in Metro Municipality

Metro Municipality, January 15, 2025 – The Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Metro Municipality, Arum Purbowati, S.ST., officially inaugurated the Statistics Corner at Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro as a strategic effort to build awareness of statistical literacy and education within the academic environment.

 

The inauguration event began with a speech from the Vice Rector IV, Dr. M. Ikhsan Dachofany, M.Ed., who enthusiastically welcomed the establishment of the first Statistics Corner in Metro Municipality. Following this, the Acting Head of BPS Lampung Province, Agung Erianto Juliandono, S.ST., M.M., also delivered remarks, expressing hope that the Statistics Corner would serve as a beneficial platform for the development of knowledge, research, and education on campus. The event also featured a speech from the Assistant II of the Metro Municipality Regional Secretariat, Ir. Yeri Ehwan, M.T., who emphasized the importance of statistical data for long-term development planning towards Indonesia's Golden Year in 2045. The spirit of collaboration and synergy between Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro, BPS, and the Metro Municipality Government is expected to contribute significantly to regional development and the enhancement of educational quality.

 

The inauguration moment was marked by a symbolic button press by the Head of BPS Metro Municipality along with the attending officials. The event concluded with the donning of sashes and pins to the Statistics Agents of Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro as a symbol of the students' role in supporting data literacy within the academic environment.

 

With the establishment of the Statistics Corner, BPS Metro Municipality reaffirms its commitment to remain a relevant and adaptive institution in the data-driven era, while also supporting the creation of a statistically literate society by providing statistical services to the campus community.
