DEVELOPMENTS IN CONSUMER PRICE INDEX / INFLATION DECEMBER 2016 INFLATION AT 0.61 PERCENT

December 2016, Lampung Composite CPI index increased from 127.52 in November 2016 became 128.31 in December 2016, thus an inflation of 0.61 percent. Based on the calculation of the rate of inflation (point to point) December 2016 experienced inflation of 2.78 percent, and inflation year on year (yoy) in December 2016 also at 2.78 percent.

Of the seven expenditure groups, six groups experienced inflation, namely foodstuffs rose 0.47 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco rose 0.13 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel rose 1.42 percent; clothing rose 0.18 percent; education, recreation, and sports up 0.01 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services rose 0.61 percent. Conversely health groups experienced deflation (down 0.02 percent).

Housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel contributed the biggest inflation is 0.37 percent. The subgroup being the largest contributor to inflation is a subgroup of the cost of a place to stay at 0.34 percent.
