April 2017, Bandar Lampung City experienced a deflation of 0.21 percent due to the decrease of Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 129.05 in March 2017 to 128.78 in April 2017. Three expenditure groups contributed to deflation in Bandar Lampung City, Foodstuffs group contributed 0.49 percent deflation; Processed food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco by 0.02 percent; And the transport, communication & financial services group by 0.01 percent. While two expenditure groups, namely housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group contributed to inflation by 0.30 percent; And clothing by 0.01 percent. While the health group, and the education, recreation, and sports groups do not contribute to inflation.
Some dominant commodities contribute to deflation include red pepper, onion, squid, orange, air transport, cayenne pepper, sugar, young jackfruit, tuna / ambul-ambu, and spinach.
Based on the calculation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), Bandar Lampung's deflation occurred due to a decrease in index in the foodstuff category which declined by 2.05 percent; Finished food, beverage, cigarette & tobacco group down by 0.13 percent; And the transport, communication & financial services group dropped by 0.03 percent. In contrast, housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel category experienced an increase in index (inflation) of 1.09 percent; Clothing group by 0.29 percent; And health group by 0,05 pesen. While the education, recreation & sports group did not experience any index changes.
Bandar Lampung City Inflation was ranked 68th out of 82 cities observed for the development of its price. Of 82 cities, 53 cities experienced inflation, and 29 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Pangkal Pinang by 1.02 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Cilacap by 0.01 percent. In contrast, the highest deflation occurred in Singaraja at 1.08 percent, and the lowest deflation occurred in Manado by 0.02 percent.
Bandar Lampung City, in April 2017 based on the calculation of the inflation of the calendar year (point to point) is 1.15 percent and year on year inflation (yoy) is 4.48 percent.
