August 2017, CPI Combined Lampung index decreased from 131.38 in July 2017 to 130.89 in August 2017, thus a deflation of 0.38 percent.
Based on the August 2017 calendar point to point rate of 2.01 percent, and year on year inflation (yoy) in August 2017 was 3.90 percent.
Of the seven expenditure groups, the three groups experienced deflation, ie foodstuffs fell 1.23 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.01 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group fell by 1.00 percent. In contrast, the processed food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group experienced inflation (up by 0.13 percent); clothing by 0.15 percent; health group by 0.14 percent; and the education, recreation and sports group by 0.59 percent.
From two monitoring cities in Lampung in August 2017, all of them experienced deflation. The deflation of Bandar Lampung was 0.42 percent, and the deflation was 0.13 percent.
Bandar Lampung City Inflation was ranked 63rd and Metro City ranked 41st, out of 82 cities that observed the development of its price. Out of 82 cities, 35 CPI cities experienced inflation and 47 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Lhokseumawe at 1.09 percent, while the lowest inflation was in Batam by 0.01 percent. In contrast, Ambon's highest deflation was 2.08 percent, and the lowest was in Samarinda at 0.03 percent.
The foodstuff group contributed the highest deflation, at 0.30 percent. The subgroup that became the highest contributor to deflation in August 2017 was a subgroup of fruits by 0.09 percent.
