May 2018, CPI Combined Lampung index decreased from 134.10 in April 2018 to 133.97 in May 2018, thus a deflation of -0.09 percent. Based on the calculation of the inflation of calendar year (point to point) in May 2018 of 1.36 percent and inflation year on year (yoy) in May 2018 is equal to 2.42 percent.
From the seven expenditure groups, the three groups experienced deflation, namely the foodstuff category experienced deflation (down by 0.41 percent); housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.07 percent; and the education, recreation and sports group by 0.02 percent. In contrast, the group of processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco experienced inflation of 0.05 percent; clothing group 0.29 percent; health group 0.18 percent; and the 0.01 percent transport, communication and financial services group.
From two monitoring cities in Lampung in May 2018, all of them experienced deflation. Bandar Lampung's deflation is -0.05 percent, and deflation of Metro is -0.33 percent.
Bandar Lampung City Inflation was ranked 69th and Metro City ranked 77th, from 82 cities observed the development price. Out of 82 cities, 65 CPI cities experienced inflation and 17 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 1.88 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Purwokerto and Tangerang by 0.01 percent. The highest deflation experienced by Pangkal Pinang was -0.99 percent and the lowest deflation experienced by Pematang Siantara was -0.01 percent.
The foodstuff group contributed the highest deflation, at -0.10 percent. The subgroup that became the highest contributor to deflation in May 2018 was a sub-group of spices of -0.21 percent.
