➢ In September 2017, the number of poor (people with per capita expenditure per month below the Poverty Line) in Lampung reached 1,083.74 thousand people (13.04 percent), decreased by 47.99 thousand people compared to the conditions in March 2017 amounted to 1,131,73 thousand people (13.69 percent).
➢ The percentage of poor people in urban areas in March 2017 of 10.03 percent decreased to 9.13 percent in September 2017. While the percentage of rural poor in rural areas in March 2017 of 15.08 percent decreased to 14.56 percent in September 2017.
➢ During the period from March to September 2017, the number of poor people in urban areas decreased by 16.35 thousand people (from 228.32 thousand in March 2017 to 211.97 thousand people in September 2017), while in rural areas fell by 31, 64 thousand people (from 903,41 thousand people in March 2017 to 871,77 thousand people in September 2017).
➢ The role of food commodities against the Poverty Line is much greater than the role of non-food commodities (housing, clothing, education, and health). The contribution of the Food Poverty Line to the Poverty Line in September 2017 was 74.73 percent. This condition is not much different from the condition in March 2017 that is equal to 75.27 percent.
➢ In September 2017, the level of inequality of Lampung population expenditure as measured by Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.333. This figure decreased by 0.001 points when compared with Gini Ratio in March 2017 which amounted to 0.334. Meanwhile, if compared to Gini Ratio September 2016 which is 0.358, Gini Ratio September 2017 decreased by 0,025 points.
➢ Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2017 was recorded at 0.360 down compared to Gini Ratio of March 2017 which amounted to 0.364 and Gini Ratio September 2016 which amounted to 0.384. While the Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2017 was recorded at 0.301 compared to Gini Ratio in March 2017 which was 0.297 and decreased when compared to Gini Ratio September 2017 which was 0.311.
➢ In September 2017, the distribution of expenditure of the lowest 40 percent population group was 19.89 percent. This means that the population expenditure is still in the category of low level of inequality. If detailed by region, in urban areas the figure is recorded at 18.66 percent which means it is in the category of low inequality. While for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 21.32 percent, which means fall into the category of low inequality.
