August 2018, the Lampung Joint CPI experienced an increase in the index from 135.12 in July 2018 to 135.22 in August 2018, thus inflation of 0.07 percent.
Based on the August 2018 calendar year (point to point) inflation calculation of 2.30 percent and year on year (yoy) inflation in August 2018 was 3.31 percent.
Of the seven expenditure groups, five groups experienced inflation, namely the education, recreation and sports group experiencing inflation of 3.89 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.34 percent of clothing group 0.16 percent; processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco; and health groups 0.06 percent respectively. In contrast, foodstuffs experienced deflation (down by 1.28 percent); and the transport, communication and financial services group experienced 0.07 percent.
Of the two monitoring cities in Lampung in August 2018, all experienced inflation. Bandar Lampung inflation was 0.05 percent, and Metro inflation was 0.20 percent.
Inflation The city of Bandar Lampung was ranked 24th and Metro City was ranked 14th, from 82 cities which observed price developments. Of 82 cities, 30 CPI cities experienced inflation and 52 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tarakan at 0.62 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Medan and Padangsidempuan by 0.01 percent.
Education, recreation and sports groups contribute the highest inflation, which is 0.28 percent. The subgroups which contributed to the highest inflation in August 2018 were the education services sub-group by 0.27 percent.
