January 2019, Lampung Joint CPI experienced an increase in index from 135.78 in December 2018 to 136.08 in January 2019, thus inflation was 0.22 percent.
Based on January 2019 calendar year inflation calculation (point to point) of 0.22 percent and January 2019 year on year (yoy) inflation against January 2018 is 1.66 percent.
Of the seven expenditure groups, five groups experienced inflation, namely the foodstuffs group experienced inflation (up by 0.81 percent); clothing group 0.53 percent; health group 0.23 percent; processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group 0.22 percent; and the education, recreation and sports group 0.12 percent. In contrast, the two expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely the transport, communication and financial services group of 0.21 percent and the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.08 percent.
Of the two monitoring cities in Lampung in January 2019, all experienced inflation. Bandar Lampung's inflation is 0.24 percent, and Metro inflation is 0.14 percent.
Inflation in Bandar Lampung City ranked 55th and Metro City ranked 67th out of 82 cities which observed price developments. Of the 82 CPI cities, 73 cities experienced inflation and 9 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan at 1.23 percent, and the lowest inflation occurred in Pematang Siantar by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Tual by 0.87 percent, and the lowest deflation occurred in Merauke by 0.01 percent.
The foodstuffs group contributed the highest inflation, which was 0.18 percent. The subgroup which was the highest contributor to inflation in January 2019 was a subgroup of grains, tubers and their products of 0.10 percent.
