Abstract

In July 2020 there was inflation of 0.11 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.14. Inflation occurred because of an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in most of the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.37 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.10 percent; household appliances, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.34 percent; health group of 0.09 percent; the information, communication and financial services group by 0.06 percent and the personal care and other services group by 0.62 percent. While the groups that experienced deflation were housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.06 percent and transportation by 0.38 percent. While in the recreation, sports and culture group; the education and food and beverage supply groups did not change the index. The inflation rate for the July 2020 calendar year is 1.40 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2020 against July 2019) is 2.36 percent.
