Implementation of the Village Potential Data Collection 2024

In May 2024, the Statistics of Metro Municipality conducted the Village Potential Data Collection (Podes) 2024. This survey is carried out in preparation for the 2026 Economic Census. The implementation of the Podes 2024 data collection aligns with the mandate of Law No. 6 of 2014, which states that village development is an effort to improve the quality of life and well-being of village/kelurahan communities, aiming to promote independent and sustainable village/kelurahan development with social, economic, and environmental resilience.

To support development in village/kelurahan areas, it is necessary to have data and information on the specific potential possessed by all regions down to the smallest areas (small areas) to complement existing sectoral data. The coverage of the Podes 2024 data collection includes district/city Podes, sub-district Podes, and village/kelurahan Podes.

The general goal of the Podes 2024 is to produce data for regional development purposes, provide data on regional potential, infrastructure/facility availability, and socio-economic conditions in each village/kelurahan. The specific objectives of the Podes 2024 are to provide data that can support the planning of the 2026 Economic Census activities and serve as a means for Updating the Master File of Villages (MFD). Additionally, the specific objectives include providing data on the existence and development of village/kelurahan potential, including social, economic, and infrastructure aspects, providing data for village typology classification, serving as a primary data source for updating statistical work area maps, providing data for compiling small area statistics, and providing data for various analyses, such as identifying and determining disadvantaged villages, contextual variables in PMT, identifying disaster-prone villages, and identifying villages with geographical difficulties, and providing data for calculating indicators of village development/progress.
