Orientation for STMIK Dharma Wacana and IIB Dharmajaya Students in Kelurahan Cantik Collaboration

BPS Kota Metro is collaborating with university students to enhance statistical literacy in Metro City through the Kelurahan Cinta Statistik (Kelurahan Cantik) Program. On Thursday, August 1, 2024, BPS Kota Metro conducted an orientation for students from STMIK Dharma Wacana and IIB Dharmajaya who will participate in community service activities. The orientation was held in a hybrid format, with STMIK Dharma Wacana students attending in person at their campus, while IIB Dharmajaya students participated online via Zoom.

The event began with opening remarks from the Chair of STMIK Dharma Wacana, the Chair of the Community Service Internship Program (PKPM), and the Head of BPS Kota Metro. In her remarks, the Head of BPS Kota Metro emphasized the importance of youth in improving data and statistical literacy within the community to support targeted development programs.

Following the opening session, the BPS Kota Metro team provided training, covering topics such as the Kelurahan Cinta Statistik initiative, data presentation via websites, data visualization, kelurahan monographs, Satu Data Indonesia (One Data Indonesia), and the use of applications for population data recording. The event concluded with a Q&A session and a quiz to assess participants' understanding of the materials presented.
