On Monday, December 2, 2024, ubinan supervision was carried out in Purwosari village, North Metro sub-district and was successfully carried out. This supervision aims to monitor the quality and productivity of agricultural products, as well as to serve as a reference for improving future crop yields, especially corn crops.
Sample households 1 and 2 showed significant results. Household 1, one of the farmers who is active in managing the maize crop recorded a significant yield of 6,425kg/ubinan (2.5m x 2.5m) while household 2, a farmer who also grows maize, obtained a yield of 5,755kg/ubinan (2.5m x 2.5m). The results were weighed in the form of dry harvest bundles. The estimated yield per hectare was 10.28 tons per hectare of dry shelled maize, for respondent 1 because one hectare was divided into 1600 plots, while for respondent 2 the estimated yield was 9.20 tons per hectare of dry shelled maize.
These results give an idea of the productivity of the crops grown by the two farmers. Despite the difference in results, both farmers recorded quite good results and showed agricultural potential that can continue to be improved with further support and guidance from stakeholders in Metro city, especially the Metro City Agriculture and Fisheries Food Security Office.
In this supervision, officers appreciated the hard work of both farmers in taking care of their crops. This ubinan supervision is also the basis for planning assistance or training programs that can help farmers in improving their yields in the future.
In the future, it is hoped that the results can be used as a reference to improve agricultural efficiency in the Purwosari village area through appropriate technology and optimized cropping patterns.
The good maize farming in the area can be an indicator of the success of the program to increase agricultural production in Purwosari Village. In the future, it is hoped that these results can continue to be improved with the support of more optimal cultivation techniques.
