Final 2024 Observations of the Paddy and Corn Area Sample Survey (KSA)

The Statistics of Metro Municipality (BPS Kota Metro) has once again conducted observations for the Area Sample Survey (KSA) of Paddy and Corn in the Metro Municipality area at the end of 2024. This activity is part of BPS's efforts to produce accurate and up-to-date agricultural statistical data, which serves as an important foundation for planning and evaluating government policies in the agricultural sector.

This KSA survey covers two main commodities, paddy and corn, which are strategic food crops in Indonesia. Observations are conducted using the Area Sample Framework method, allowing BPS to monitor harvest areas and production more effectively by utilizing remote sensing technology and direct field observations.

The field observation team has collaborated with local farmers to verify data at various predetermined sample points. Observations are conducted comprehensively to ensure that the data produced reflects the actual conditions in the field.

The results of this survey will serve as a reference for local governments in formulating policies related to agricultural development, fertilizer subsidies, and the distribution of harvests. "With valid data, we hope to support the improvement of farmers' welfare and strengthen food security in Metro Municipality," he said.

During the survey conducted in December, the team faced challenges such as unpredictable weather conditions and difficult access to some locations. However, with high spirits, all obstacles were successfully overcome.

Subsequently, BPS Kota Metro will conduct further analysis of the collected data to ensure the quality and accuracy of the information produced.

With the successful implementation of the 2024 KSA survey, BPS Kota Metro reaffirms its commitment to continuously support the growth of the agricultural sector by providing reliable and high-quality data.
