January 2016, the city of Bandar Lampung back experienced inflation of 0.26 percent because of the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 123.90 in December 2015 to 124.22 in January 2016. Six groups of expenditure contributed inflation in Bandar Lampung, namely foodstuffs contributes inflation of 0.24 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.15 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.04 per cent; clothing group by 0.02 percent; health group by 0,01 percent; but the education, recreation and sport do not contribute to inflation. Only one group of expenditures that contribute to deflation in the city of Bandar Lampung, namely the transport communications, and financial services by 0.20 percent.
Some of the dominant commodity inflation contributed include electricity tariffs, onion, garlic, chicken, watermelon, eggs, beef, bottled water, sugar, and boy shorts.
Based on the calculation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the inflation of Bandar Lampung due to an increase in the index of food group index increased by 0.98; food, beverages, and tobacco products rose by 0.22; housing by 0.56; clothing group rose by 0.45; and health services group rose by 0.24; and education, recreation, and sport does not change the index (0.00 percent). Instead the group of transport and communication index declines (deflation) of 1.23.
Inflation in Bandar Lampung is ranked 70th of the 82 cities observed price changes. Of the 82 cities, 75 cities experienced inflation and 7 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was in Sibolga by 1.82 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded at 0.02 percent Padang. Gorontalo experienced the highest deflation by 0.58 percent, the lowest deflation experienced Tanjung Pandan 0.02 percent.
Bandar Lampung, in January 2016 based on the calculation of the rate of inflation (point to point) is 0.26 percent and inflation year on year (yoy) amounted to 5.58 percent.
