February 2016, the city of Bandar Lampung is back in deflation of 0.51 percent after the previous month's inflation. There are three types of expenses that contribute to deflation in Bandar Lampung, namely foodstuffs contributes deflation of 0.36 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.15 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services 0.06 percent. While the other four groups to put a halt deflation, namely food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco contributed to inflation by 0.02 percent; health group by 0,02 percent; clothing group by 0.01 percent; and education, recreation and sports activities with a share of 0.01 percent inflation.
Some commodities are predominantly contribute to deflation include electricity tariffs, red pepper, onion, chicken, calamari squid, petrol, watermelon, eggs, air freight, and carrots.
Based on the calculation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), deflation of Bandar Lampung due to decreased index of foodstuffs were down 1.49 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel fell by 0.54 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services dropped 0.35 percent. While the other four groups experienced a rise in index, namely the health group rose 0.51 percent; clothing rose 0.11 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco, which rose by 0.09 percent; and education, recreation, and sport was up 0.09 percent.
Deflation of Bandar Lampung is ranked 74th of the 82 cities observed price changes. Of the 82 cities, 52 cities experienced deflation and 30 cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation was in Tanjung Pandan 1.02 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded at 0.02 percent Banda Aceh. Merauke experienced high deflation by 2.95 percent, deflation experienced Sibolga lower by 0.02 percent.
Bandar Lampung, in February 2016 based on the calculation of the rate of inflation (point to point) amounted to -0.25 percent and inflation year on year (yoy) amounted to 5.35 percent.
