August 2016, the city of Bandar Lampung, namely deflation of 0.11 percent. Of the seven expenditure groups, two groups contributed to deflation in Bandar Lampung, namely foodstuffs contributes deflation of 0.22 percent; and group transport, communication and financial services contributed deflation of 0.21 percent. While processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco contributed inflation of 0.18 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel inflation contributed 0.07 percent; clothing group contributed inflation of 0.04 percent; health group contributed inflation of 0.03 percent and education, recreation and sport do not contribute to inflation.
Some commodities are predominantly contribute to deflation including inter-city transportation, oranges, chicken, onion, garlic, tomatoes, eggs, wine, sugar, and laddie kediro.
Based on the calculation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), deflation of Bandar Lampung due to decreased index of foodstuff by 0.92 percent; and group transport, communications, and financial services were down 1.37 percent. While processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco increased by 1.04 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel rose by 0.27 percent; clothing group increased by 0.89 percent; health group up 0.65 percent; and education, recreation and sports increased by 0.04 percent.
Inflation in Bandar Lampung is ranked 43 of the 82 cities observed price changes. Of the 82 cities, 49 cities experienced deflation, while 33 cities experienced inflation. The highest deflation occurred in Kupang by 0.87 percent, while the lowest was in Cilegon deflation of 0.01 percent. The highest inflation was in Sorong and Manokwari 1.27 percent, the lowest inflation was in Jakarta at 0.01 percent.
Bandar Lampung, in August 2016 based on the calculation of the rate of inflation (point to point) amounted to -0.71 percent and inflation year on year (yoy) amounted to 2.12 percent.
