December 2017, Bandar Lampung City experienced an inflation of 0.47 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 130.70 in November 2017 to 131.31 in December 2017. Four expenditure groups contributed to the formation of inflation in Bandar Lampung City, namely the foodstuff category contributed to the formation of inflation by 0.34 percent; food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.05 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.05 percent; and the transport, communication & financial services group by 0.05 percent. In contrast, the healthcare group contributed to deflation by 0.02 percent. While two expenditure groups, clothing and education, recreation and sports groups do not contribute to the formation of inflation or deflation.
Some of the dominant commodities contributed to the inflation, red chili, rice, chicken eggs, noodles, housemaid wages, mobile phone pulse rates, chicken meat, cung kediro, rice with side dishes, and household fuels.
Bandar Lampung City Inflation is ranked 66th out of 82 cities that observed the development of its price. Of 82 cities, all cities experienced inflation and no cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Jayapura at 2.28 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Sorong at 0.18 percent.
Kota Bandar Lampung, in December 2017 based on the calculation of inflation year calendar (point to point) and year on year inflation (yoy) is 3.14 percent.
