December 2018, Bandar Lampung City experienced inflation of 0.31 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 134.73 in November 2018 to 135.15 in December 2018. Seven (all) expenditure groups experienced inflation in Bandar Lampung City, the foodstuffs group experienced inflation of 0.50 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.70 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.04 percent; clothing group 0.48 percent; health group 0.20 percent; education, recreation and sports group 0.02 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group 0.21 percent.
The contribution of the expenditure group in the formation of inflation in December 2018 was 0.31 percent. The foodstuffs group contributed to the formation of inflation by 0.11 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group of 0.12 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group 0.01 percent; clothing group 0.03 percent; health group 0.01 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group 0.03 percent. Meanwhile, the education, recreation and sports groups did not contribute to the formation of inflation or deflation.
Some commodities that predominantly contribute to the formation of inflation in December include: filtered clove cigarettes, chicken eggs, shallots, broiler meat, leather sandals, wet shrimp, air transport, vehicle washing, cung kediro, and jengkol.
In December 2018, the inflation of Bandar Lampung City was ranked 65th out of 82 cities which observed price developments. Of 82 cities, 80 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kupang at 2.09 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Banda Aceh by 0.02 percent. The highest deflation occurred in Sorong by 0.15 percent, while the lowest deflation occurred in Kendari at 0.09 percent.
City of Bandar Lampung, in December 2018 based on the calculation of inflation in the calendar year (point to point) of 2.92 percent, and inflation year on year (yoy) amounted to 2.92 percent.
