February 2018, Bandar Lampung City experienced inflation of 0.06 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 133.17 in January 2018 to 133.25 in February 2018. Four expenditure groups contributed to inflation in Bandar Lampung, ie foodstuffs contributing to inflation by 0.03 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.01 percent; clothing by 0.01 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group by 0.01 percent. While the group of finished food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco; health groups; and education, recreation and sports groups do not contribute to the formation of inflation or deflation.
Some of the dominant commodities contributed to inflation, rice, garlic, vegetable tomatoes, onion, tempe, gasoline, young jackfruit, domestic servants' wages, live chickens, and catfish. Bandar Lampung City Inflation was ranked 50th out of 82 cities that observed the development of its price. Of 82 cities, 55 cities experienced inflation and 27 cities experienced deflation.
The highest inflation occurred in Jayapura at 1.05 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Palangkaraya by 0.04 percent. The highest deflation occurred in Medan at -0.96 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Lubuklinggau at -0.02 percent.
Bandar Lampung city, in February 2018 based on the calculation of year to point inflation of 1.48 percent, and year on year inflation (yoy) is 3.19 percent.
