May 2016, the city of Bandar Lampung inflation is 0.06 percent after the previous month deflation. Two groups of expenditure contributed inflation in Bandar Lampung, namely food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco contributed inflation of 0.09 percent; and the clothing group by 0.01 percent. Instead of three groups, namely the foodstuffs contributes to deflation of 0.01 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel fell by 0.02 percent, and health group contributed to deflation of 0.01 percent.
Some of the dominant commodity inflation contributed include sugar, eggs, chicken, kale, cooking oil, spinach, laddie kediro, cucumbers, tomatoes, and carrots.
Based on the calculation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the inflation of Bandar Lampung occurs because of an increase in the index for processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.52 per cent; and clothing rose by 0.38 percent. Instead foodstuffs fell 0.06 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas; fuel fell 0.07 percent, health group fell 0.27 percent; and transportation & communication and financial services was down 0.03 percent. As for education, recreation, and sport does not change the index.
Inflation in Bandar Lampung is ranked 61st out of 82 cities which observed price changes. Of the 82 cities, 67 cities experienced inflation and 15 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was in London at 1.67 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded at 0.02 percent Singaraja. Sorong experienced the highest deflation of 0.92 percent, the lowest experienced deflation of 0.01 percent Maumere.
Bandar Lampung, in May 2016 based on the calculation of the rate of inflation (point to point) amounted to -0.45 percent and inflation year on year (yoy) amounted to 3.17 percent.
