March 2018, Bandar Lampung Municipality experienced an inflation of 0.11 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 133.25 in February 2018 to 133.40 in March 2018. Six expenditure groups experienced inflation in Bandar Lampung City, experienced inflation of 0.36 percent; transport, communication and financial services group by 0.22 percent; foodstuffs by 0.21 percent; clothing group by 0.11 percent; food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco groups; and housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel groups of 0.02 percent each. While the education, recreation and sports groups did not experience any changes in index (increase or decrease).
Contribution to expenditure groups in the formation of inflation in March 2018, including foodstuffs by 0.04 percent; the transportation, communication and financial services group 0.03 percent; health group 0.02 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel groups and clothing group of 0.01 percent each. Meanwhile, the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco; and education, recreation and sports groups do not contribute to the formation of inflation or deflation.
Some dominant commodities contribute to the formation of inflation, such as red peppers, onions, garlic, spinach, green mustard, gasoline, vegetable tomatoes, chicken meat, kale, and jengkol.
Bandar Lampung City Inflation is ranked 44th out of 82 cities that observed the development of its price. Of 82 cities, 57 cities experienced inflation and 25 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Jayapura at 2.10 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Sumenep by 0.01 percent. The highest deflation occurred in Tual at -2.30 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Bulukumba by -0.01 percent.
Bandar Lampung city, in March 2018 based on the calculation of year to point inflation of 1.59 percent, and year on year inflation (yoy) was 3.37 percent.
