• April 2018, Bandar Lampung City experienced deflation of 0.01 percent due to the decrease of Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 133.40 in March 2018 to 133.39 in April 2018. Two expenditure groups experienced deflation in Bandar Lampung City, foodstuffs by 0.73 percent; and the finished food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.01 percent. In contrast, four expenditure groups experienced inflation, ie, housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel rose by 0.49 percent; clothing by 0.15 percent; the health group experienced 0.33 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group by 0.13 percent. While the education, recreation and sports groups did not experience any changes in index (increase or decrease).
• The contribution of the expenditure group in the formation of deflation in April 2018 was the foodstuff group by -0.19 percent. In contrast, expenditure groups contributing to inflationary formation were housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.13 percent; clothing group 0.01 percent; health group 0.02 percent; and the 0.02 percent transport, communication and financial services group. Meanwhile, the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco; as well as education, recreation and sports groups do not contribute to the formation of inflation or deflation.
• Some of the dominant commodities contribute to deflationary formation, such as rice, red chili, tile, wet shrimp, papaya, bottled water, squid, young jackfruit, kale, and powder / liquid detergent soap.
• Bandar Lampung City Inflation was ranked 56th out of 82 cities observed by price developments. Of 82 cities, 54 cities experienced inflation and 28 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Merauke at 1.32 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Kudus and Padang by 0.01 percent. The highest deflation occurred in Tual at -2.26 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Medan, Bandar Lampung and Tegal at -0.01 percent.
• Bandar Lampung city, in April 2018 based on the calculation of year to point inflation of 1.58 percent, and year on year inflation (yoy) was 3.58 percent.
