❖ April 2018, CPI Combined Lampung index decreased from 134.13 in March 2018 to 134.10 in April 2018, thus a deflation of -0.02 percent.
❖ Based on the April 2018 calendar (point to point) inflation rate of 1.45 percent and year on year inflation (yoy) of April 2018 is 3.42 percent.
❖ Of the seven expenditure groups, the two groups experienced deflation, namely the foodstuff category experienced deflation (down by 0.67 percent); and food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco 0.01 percent. Four other groups experienced inflation: housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel rose by 0.41 percent; clothing group 0.12 percent; health group 0.26 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group 0.13 percent. Meanwhile, education, recreation and sports groups did not experience any changes in the index.
❖ From two monitoring cities in Lampung in April 2018, all of them experienced deflation. Bandar Lampung's deflation was -0.01 percent, and deflation of Metro was -0.12 percent.
❖ Inflation of Bandar Lampung City is ranked 56th and Metro City ranked 66th, out of 82 cities observed by price developments. Out of 82 cities, 54 CPI cities experienced inflation and 28 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Merauke at 1.32 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Kudus and Padang by 0.01 percent. Tual deflation was experienced by -2.26 percent and the lowest deflation experienced by Medan, Bandar Lampung and Tegal by -0.01 percent.
❖ The foodstuff group contributed the highest deflation, at -0.16 percent. The subgroup that became the largest contributor to deflation in April 2018 was a subgroup of grains, tubers and yields of -0.34 percent.
