• May 2018, Bandar Lampung City experienced deflation of 0.05 percent due to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) decline from 133.39 in April 2018 to 133.32 in May 2018. Three expenditure groups experienced deflation in Bandar Lampung City, the group foodstuffs decreased by 0.22 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.10 percent; and the education, recreation and sports group by 0.01 percent. In contrast, four expenditure groups experienced inflation, ie, food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco groups rose by 0.06 percent; clothing group 0.10 percent; health group 0.18 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group 0.01 percent.
• The contribution of expenditure groups in the formation of deflation in May 2018 was the foodstuff group by -0.05 percent, and the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel -0.02 percent. In contrast, expenditure groups contributing to inflationary formation were the food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco groups of 0.01 percent; and the health group 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, clothing group; education, recreation and sports groups; and the transport, communication and financial services groups do not contribute to the formation of inflation or deflation.
• Some of the dominant commodities contribute to the formation of deflation among others, red chili, garlic, rice, green mustard, spinach, stone, cayenne pepper, cement, squid, and katuk leaf.
• Bandar Lampung City Inflation is ranked 69th out of 82 cities observed by price developments. Of 82 cities, 65 cities experienced inflation and 17 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 1.88 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Purwokerto and Tangerang by 0.01 percent. The highest deflation occurred in Pangkal Pinang at -0.99 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Pematang Siantar by -0.01 percent.
• Bandar Lampung city, in May 2018 based on the calculation of year to point inflation of 1.53 percent, and year on year inflation (yoy) was 2.62 percent.
