Based on the calculation of July 2018 calendar year (point to point) inflation of 2.23 percent and year on year (yoy) inflation in July 2018 was 2.85 percent.
Of the seven expenditure groups, six groups experienced inflation, namely the foodstuff group experienced inflation (up by 0.57 percent); education, recreation and sports group 0.26 percent; clothing group 0.16 percent; processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco groups 0.11 percent; health group 0.10 percent; and the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.06 percent. In contrast, the transportation, communication and financial services group experienced deflation of 1.64 percent.
From two monitoring cities in Lampung in July 2018, all of them experienced deflation. Bandar Lampung deflation of 0.04 percent, and Metro deflation of 0.05 percent.
The transportation, communication and financial services group contributed the highest deflation, which was 0.28 percent. The subgroups that were the highest contributors to deflation in July 2018 were the transportation subgroup of 2.96 percent.
Inflation of Bandar Lampung Municipality was ranked 70th and Metro Municipality ranked 71st, from 82 cities that observed price developments. Out of 82 cities, 68 CPI cities experienced inflation and 14 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sorong at 1.47 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Surabaya, Depok, and Banyuwangi by 0.03 percent.
