November 2020, Kota Metro experienced inflation of 0.40 percent. There was an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 105.35 in October 2020 to 105.77 in November 2020. Inflation was caused by price increases in seven expenditure groups, namely, the food, beverage and tobacco group of 1.34; clothes and footwear with inflation of 0.08; group of equipment, tools and household routine maintenance 0.13 percent; health with inflation of 0.17 percent; transportation group of 0.12; the information, communication and financial services group of 0.04 percent; and personal care and other services group by 0.05 percent. In contrast, one expenditure group experienced deflation, namely the housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels group at 0.08 percent. Meanwhile the group that didn't
experiencing changes in prices are recreation, sports, and cultural groups; education group; and food and beverage / restaurant supply groups.
Based on the dominant commodities that contributed to the formation of inflation in November 2020, it was noted that tomatoes were the largest commodity that contributed to general inflation. The share of the tomato commodity to inflation was 0.0676 percent. Other commodities that also contributed significantly to inflation were eggs of broilers by 0.0623 percent; shallot by 0,0555 percent; and chicken meat by 0.0472 percent. Meanwhile, commodities experiencing deflation with
the highest share was eggplant with 0.0260 percent.
In November 2020, Metro City inflation was ranked 27th out of 90 cities that were observed for price developments. Of the 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, 83 cities experienced inflation and 7 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 1.15 percent. The highest deflation occurred in Kendari with 0.22 percent.
