Abstract

In June 2021, Metro City experienced inflation of 0.07 percent. There was an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 107.36 in May 2021 to 107.43 in June 2021. Inflation occurred due to price increases in seven expenditure groups, namely housing, water, electricity, and other fuels by 0.21 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.25 percent; health group 0.20 percent; transportation group by 0.45 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.39 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.63 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.34 percent. On the other hand, one group that experienced deflation was the food, beverage and tobacco group with a deflation of 0.37 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that did not experience price changes were three groups of expenditures, namely, the clothing and footwear group; education group; and groups of food and beverage providers/restaurants.
