May 2022, Metro Municipality experienced inflation of 0.64 percent

May 2022, Metro City experienced inflation of 0.64 percent. There was an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 111.90 in April 2022 to 112.62 in May 2022. Inflation occurred due to price increases in eight expenditure groups namely, food, beverages, and tobacco by 1.46 percent ; clothing and footwear group by 0.26 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel groups by 0.14 percent; household equipment, equipment, and routine maintenance group by 0.82 percent; transportation group by 0.12 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.13 percent; education group by 0.13 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 1.54 percent. On the other hand, there was one group that experienced deflation, namely the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.05 percent. Meanwhile, the other two expenditure groups did not experience price changes.
