March 2016, the city of Bandar Lampung inflation is equal to 0.49 percent after the previous month deflation. Six groups of expenditure contributed inflation in Bandar Lampung, namely foodstuffs contributes inflation of 0.38 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.07 per cent; and health group by 0,02 percent; education, recreation and sports by 0.02 percent; clothing with inflation contributed 0.01 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services by 0.01 percent. As for housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel contributed deflation of 0.02 percent.
Some of the dominant commodity inflation contributed include onions, red peppers, garlic, cayenne pepper, clove cigarette filter, young jackfruit, cars, cigarettes, tomatoes, and jengkol.
Based on the calculation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the inflation of Bandar Lampung occurs because of an increase in the index foodstuff by 1.70 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco increased by 0.42 percent; education, recreation, and sport rose 0.31 percent; health group rose 0.20 percent; clothing rose 0.15 percent; transport, communication and financial services rose 0.08 percent. Conversely housing sebasar index decreased 0.13 percent.
Inflation in Bandar Lampung is ranked 13th of the 82 cities observed price changes. Of the 82 cities, 58 cities experienced inflation and 24 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was in London by 1.18 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded at 0.02 percent Tangerang. Tanjung Pandang experienced the highest deflation by 1.18 percent, the lowest experienced deflation of 0.02 percent Mamuju.
Bandar Lampung, in March 2016 based on the calculation of the rate of inflation (point to point) is 0.24 percent and inflation year on year (yoy) amounted to 5.37 percent.
