September 2017, Bandar Lampung City experienced an inflation of 0.25 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 129.95 in August 2017 to 130.28 in September 2017. Five expenditure groups contributed to the formation of inflation in Bandar Lampung City, namely the education, recreation, and sports groups contributed to the formation of inflation by 0.40 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.02 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco groups; clothing group; and the transport, communication & financial services group contributed respectively 0.01 percent. In contrast, two expenditure groups contributed to deflation, ie foodstuffs by 0.19 percent; and the health group by 0.01 percent.
Some of the dominant commodities contributed to inflation, such as Junior High School, Elementary School, Senior High School, Kindergarten, Air Transport, Swallow / Benggol, Red Chilli, Porridge, Selar / Tude, and Orange.
Bandar Lampung City Inflation is ranked 22nd out of 82 cities that observed the development of its price. Of 82 cities, 50 cities experienced inflation, and 32 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 1.59 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Mamuju by 0.01 percent. In contrast, the highest deflation occurred in Manado at 1.04 percent, and the lowest deflation occurred in Tembilahan by 0.01 percent.
Bandar Lampung city, in September 2017 based on the calculation of the inflation of the calendar year (point to point) is 2.33 percent and year on year inflation (yoy) is 4.09 percent.
