Abstract

In July 2021, Metro City experienced inflation of 0.26 percent. There was an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 107.43 in June 2021 to 107.71 in July 2021. Inflation occurred due to price increases in six expenditure groups, namely, food, beverages and tobacco by 0.94 percent; housing, water, electricity, and other fuel groups by 0.36 percent; health group 0.09 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.12 percent; education group by 0.07 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.17 percent. On the other hand, four groups experienced deflation, namely clothing and footwear by 0.18 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.28 percent; transportation group by 0.38 percent; and the recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.15 percent. Meanwhile, the group that did not experienced a price change, there was one expenditure group, namely the food and beverage/restaurant provider group.
