October 2017, Bandar Lampung City experienced an inflation of 0.11 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 130.28 in September 2017 to 130.42 in October 2017. The three expenditure groups contributed to the formation of inflation in Bandar Lampung City, ie foodstuffs contributing to the formation of inflation by 0.10 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.05 percent; and the transport, communication & financial services group by 0.01 percent. In contrast, two expenditure groups contributed to deflationary formation, namely the finished food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.03 percent; and the health group by 0.01 percent. While clothing and education, recreation and sports groups do not contribute to the formation of inflation or deflation. Some of the dominant commodities contributed to the inflation, rice, red pepper, concrete iron, cooking oil, biscuits, wheat flour, cassava leaves, air transport, beef and oranges.
Bandar Lampung City Inflation is ranked 24th out of 82 cities that observed the development of its price. Of 82 cities, 44 cities experienced inflation, and 38 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 1.05 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Cilegon and Surakarta by 0.01 percent. Conversely, the highest deflation occurred in Palu at 1.31 percent, and the lowest deflation occurred in Palopo by 0.01 percent.
Kota Bandar Lampung, in October 2017 based on the calculation of the inflation of the calendar year (point to point) is 2.44 percent and year on year inflation (yoy) is 3.61 percent.
